About Us
The Center for Attainable Housing is a collaborative effort between concerned citizens, government leaders, private enterprise, and philanthropic organizations. The WHRC addresses critical needs of quality workforce housing and those who qualify as defined by the Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development. Workforce housing is defined as
a. those households, whose members collectively earn between 60 and 120 percent of the state's median family income level, adjusted for household size, as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
b. affordable to the workforce if it consumes not more than 30 percent of the household's income level.
Mission:
To assist citizens and businesses of the greater Walton Area address escalating concerns for workforce housing by promoting advocacy, education, information, and nurturing a robust collaboration between public institutions, private enterprise, and citizens.
Vision:
To strengthen our community and businesses by securing homeownership for our workforce enabling continued growth and economic development throughout Walton County.
